24 HOURS OF FITNESS FOR SARCOMA UK: JOIN THE MOVEMENT THIS SEPTEMBER

Updated: 2 days ago

This September, Nat at Leo Gym is hosting something truly special, a 24-hour non-stop fitness event dedicated to raising awareness and vital funds for Sarcoma UK, a charity supporting individuals and families affected by one of the rarest and most aggressive forms of cancer.

This challenge is part of a global movement, with individuals and gyms across the world taking part at the same time to raise awareness and funds for their own chosen causes. From 5pm on Friday 5th September to 5pm Saturday 6th September, our community will unite in movement, sweat, and solidarity.

Whether you’re a Leo member or not, we’re inviting everyone to take part in this one-of-a-kind experience - as little or as much as you like.

WHY WE'RE DOING THIS

This event is personal, and it comes from the heart of our Leo Gym community. Earlier this year, Natalie, one of our incredible coaches, watched her younger brother Tom face something no one should: a diagnosis of sarcoma.

Sarcomas are cancers that can grow in bones or soft tissues such as muscles, fat, nerves, and blood vessels. What makes sarcoma especially devastating is how fast it can spread, how difficult it is to detect early, and how it often requires life-altering surgery and intensive treatment. It accounts for around 1% of all cancer diagnoses, but tragically, it is overrepresented in younger age groups, making up 10% of cancers in children.

After months of intensive treatment and a life-changing surgery, Tom’s story of strength and resilience has inspired Natalie to take on a powerful community challenge to stand together, move with purpose, and help change the future for families affected by sarcoma.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each hour during the 24-hour window will feature a different style of movement, from partner HIIT workouts to yoga and boxing, walks throughout Marlow and a uniting hero WOD in honour of our amazing Phil Robinson who sadly lost his battle to Lung Cancer in 2022. You can drop in for a session, stick around for a coffee, or take on the ultimate challenge like Natalie and 25 other incredible participants who’ve committed to the full 24 hours.

Meet the team taking on the full 24 hours!

PRIZE DONATIONS & RAFFLE

Nat has been working hard inviting member-owned and local businesses to get involved by donating prizes to our community raffle, which will be drawn during the event. If you’d like to contribute a prize, whether it’s a voucher, gift box, or experience — please reach out to Natalie at leonatfindyourfit24@yahoo.com.  All proceeds raised from the raffle will also go to Sarcoma UK.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Each session booked we kindly ask for a £10 donation where 100% of this goes directly to Sarcoma UK.

If you’d like to take part in four or more consecutive hours, your sessions are free — instead, we ask that you help by raising individual sponsorship through our JustGiving page. To arrange this, just speak to Natalie or a member of the Leo Team and we’ll get you signed up.

Please visit our JustGiving Page to donate or sponsor one of the amazing team Nat has beside her who are dedicating their time and energy into this event truly special.

If you have a question or want to enquire about getting involved, please email Nat at leonatfindyourfit24@yahoo.com

Whether it’s 1 hour, 3 hours, or all 24 — we appreciate every minute you can offer to move in honour of those who can’t.

LET'S DO THIS TOGETHER

A message from Natalie’s brother Tom:

ree

“A thanks in advance to anyone who's coming down to take part or support the event in any way. I hope you haven't heard about my type of cancer before but 60% of osteosarcoma patients are teenagers or younger. Shockingly Sarcomas overall make up 10% of childhood cancers. Every penny goes towards direct help, support and research to improve the outcomes for all those diagnosed. I'm super excited to come and cheer on everyone doing it for those that can't.” Tom

We’re blown away by the support already shown by our community — with local businesses, friends, and fitness fanatics stepping forward to be a part of something meaningful.

This isn’t just about fitness — it’s about showing up for something bigger, honouring a brave personal journey, and making a difference as a collective.

Join us. Move with us. Let’s make 24 hours count.
